How To Enjoy Life And Be Happy
HOW TO ENJOY LIFE & BE HAPPY
Knowing What Is Important In Life
We know that life is short and it’s so precious, yet everyday we forget to treasure it and make the most of what we have.
Precious moments are lost in a world of chaos, social media, and division. Sometimes circumstances beyond our control cause loss, and other times our own choices cause us to lose the things that are most important to us.
We all have different needs and priorities in life, but one thing we all have in common is that the absence of certain things in our lives makes us feel incomplete.
Life is a rat race, we all are so caught up with daily chores and a million other things – and when we have some quiet moments alone, we question our own happiness.
While our lives and priorities may differ, there are some things that are essential to living a fulfilling life… things we must fight for… things that truly matter.
So, here’s a list of five crucial aspects of life that we need to stop and think about…
HEALTH - Is what money can't buy
We often take our health for granted until something drastic happens and jeopardises our health. When we are healthy, we can do a lot more in life – we certainly cannot live life to the fullest without it.
Therefore it’s crucial that we look after our mind, body, and soul. It’s time to take charge of our general health and be aware of what our body is telling us. Eating well and scheduling time to unwind will improve your mental health and overall well-being. Exercise on a daily basis can help reduce preventable illnesses and stress that may be preventing us from enjoying life now or as we grow older.
RELATIONSHIPS - Family & Friends
No man is an island – we are human, and we need meaningful interactions. Family and friends and loved ones can truly enrich and complete our lives. Being busy is natural, but why not try to be busy with the people who are most important to us?
It is priceless to know that we have someone who cares about us, and who will always be there for us – to help and support us in time of need.
But it’s all too easy to lose sight of how important family and friends are to us. We often take these people for granted. Our relationships are the foundation of our lives. We must provide these special people with our time, love and attention they deserve.
TIME - We cannot turn back the clock
Time is a finite resource; once spent, it is lost forever. We can never get back time, but we can be intentional with the time we have.
We all have the same number of hours in the day, which are packed with responsibilities and obligations. Managing time frequently boils down to making decisions – When we say “yes” to one thing, we are saying “no” to another.
We rush from one commitment to the next, never fully present in any of them. So, take control of our own time – and prioritise what is truly crucial and important that we need to deal with. Don’t sweat the small stuff – attend to what matters most.
LOVE & PEACE
Love is the highest energy we can experience, and acts of love raise our awareness of the world. Our ability to approach the world with love inspires others while teaching compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and peace.
Love’s actions of kindness, compassion, helpfulness, and caring are the true mark of greatness. Even if you don’t love your life, you can find meaning and purpose by loving things or people in your life.
Next, when you protect your peace, you can balance your emotions and effectively manage relationships and stressful situations. This will assist you in developing self-confidence and coming to terms with yourself, allowing you to achieve inner peace and cultivate a more positive outlook on life.
You don’t have to live up to the expectations of others. Prioritise your peace, love yourself enough to treat yourself to some peace of mind, self-preservation and self-love.
Knowing our PURPOSE
By knowing our ‘why’, it acts as a fuel to motivate us to act, to work, to do something worthwhile – and it adds meaning and richness to our lives.
To live a meaningful life, we must have a purpose – a goal, an outcome that we hope to achieve. It can be what you’ve been dreaming of, career goals or your own definition of success. Dig deep to discover what you’re passionate about and pursue it.
If we’ve lost our way and are wondering why, we can ask ourselves a few related questions.
- What am I attempting to accomplish?
- What makes me happy and excited?
- What motivates me to get out of bed in the morning?
- What would I like to see more of in my life?
- What do I want to see less of in my life?
The answers to these questions can be revealing, leading us back to the core of what is most important to us. Pay attention to these responses and use them as a guide.
We only have one life and we happiness is just around the corner – we just need to grab it.
Sit down and think about prioritising things that matter in life, or making meaningful changes in your life. Take small, manageable steps. Remove everything that’s preventing you from reaching your ideal space because it’s time to reclaim your happiness!
